Environmental assessment reporting on the impacts of waste operations at a three-day food waste festival in Shropshire. The project involved working with the event’s waste management contractor and monitoring the waste and recycling generated across the whole site over the three days. We provided a breakdown of the material generated (e.g. paper, card, glass, plastic and cans, organics and residual waste) and its management route (recycling, energy from waste, landfill etc). Total waste results were presented and presented in carbon terms to evaluate the environmental impact of the event. Opportunities for future improvement were identified.
